The online business sells hats for “rainbow babies:” thriving children born to parents who have previously experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
Schneider was inspired to start when she celebrated the birth of her friend's “rainbow baby.” To her delight, Schneider found a manufacturer not far from her home in the front range of Colorado - a B Corporation that uses antique knitting machines to hand-craft hats. It would not be easy to make a hat with so many colors because the machines only hold three colors at a time. But it could be done.
Shortly thereafter Schneider founded Rainbow Hats, LLC with the goal of supporting the healing process for families, promoting awareness, and celebrating love.
Her campaign has garnered national attention and was featured by the Huffington Post.
