Many
Spartans regard Beaumont
Tower as the major symbol for Michigan State University.
It was built in 1929 thanks to a gift from John, '82, and
Alice Beaumont. John Beaumont was a successful lawyer in
Detroit who served for a period on the faculty of the Detroit
College of Law.
Ironically, in 1995 the DCL affiliated with MSU and today
making the circle complete. It is located on the MSU campus
across from the Broad College of Business and is officially
called the Michigan State University/
Detroit College of Law.
