What’s a Legacy?

The Michigan State University Alumni Association Legacy Program is an open door to the future — a future of opportunities for all young Spartans. Designed especially for the descendants of MSU alumni and friends, the Legacy Program keeps your children and grandchildren connected to the University and its traditions.

Eligible Legacies are 0 to 16 years of age and have a sponsor — a parent, grandparent or guardian — who is a dues-paying member of the MSU Alumni Association. In addition to this annual or life membership investment as a sponsor, a one-time payment of $20 will ensure that your legacy endures through a new generation of Spartans.

Each Legacy child receives a welcome letter and gift from Sparty, a personalized membership card, annual birthday greetings, and exclusive gifts and invitations from Sparty during the Legacy membership.

*Sponsoring adult member must maintain current and uninterrupted membership with MSUAA, otherwise the full Legacy fee of $20 will be required for re-enrollment. Enrollment does not guarantee your child’s future admission to Michigan State University.
