Elected officials must be incumbents of the positions listed below. If the position is not listed, you are not eligible to participate.
Parade order of the incumbent elected officials is as follows. The number listed to the right is the approximate order the dignitary will be in the parade.

**During an election year, one candidate from each party of the above positions will be allowed to participate in the parade.
Elected officials and candidates must follow the following rules:
As an elected official/candidate, you must be the person participating in the MSU Homecoming Parade. You may NOT send a representative in your place.
The elected official/candidate can ride in a car or walk with a sign or banner.
The elected official/candidate must provide their own car and driver and signage for the car. Only one car or vehicle is allowed per elected official/candidate.
Sign or banner dimensions: no larger than 20 ft. long x 13 feet high
Please report to the Hannah Community Center by 5:00 p.m. Enter the Hannah Community Center parking lot via the Fern Street entrance off Abbott Road. Someone will greet the official as they enter and give the assigned spot in the staging area. They should park in the spot as soon as they arrive.
A reception will be held inside the Hannah Community Center at 4:30 p.m. Please register inside at this reception for the parade.
The parade will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. so it is important that everyone is in their car and ready at 6:00 p.m.
If riding in a car they must remain in the car during the entire length of parade.
NO campaigning is allowed; including no campaign literature.
A representative must attend the MANDATORY parade meeting on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at the MSU Union, Gold Room (second floor). You may send a representative in your place but they MUST personally review the rules with you. IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND THE MANDATORY MEETING, YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE.
Once a spot has been assigned, it CANNOT be changed. There can be NO exceptions to this rule.
