In honor of Michigan State University's Sesquicentennial celebration,
the university is bringing back the ever-popular MSU
Water Carnival.
The MSU Water Carnival, which began in 1923 and ended in 1969, was one
of the most popular traditions on the campus of Michigan State University.
On Friday, October 7, 2005 the Michigan State University will be bringing
back a new and updated MSU Water Carnival from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the banks
of the Red Cedar River, south of the MSU Auditorium. It will be followed
by a fireworks display.
The MSU Water Carnival will be part of a weekend-long series of events
on campus including the MSU Sesquicentennial Parade, which
will be held on Saturday October 8th from noon until 3
p.m., followed by the Sparty
Statue Unveiling Ceremony at 4:00 p.m.
The MSU Water Carnival will be open to all MSU Students, alumni and to
the general public on the night of October 7, 2005. Bleacher seating will
be available, as well as blanket seating on the banks of the Red Cedar
River.
