MSUAA Regional Clubs and Constituent Groups:
Greetings from East Lansing! Members of the Spartan Football
team are on campus, prepping for the first home game under new Head Coach
John L. Smith. Summer construction projects are wrapping
up, and you'll see newly redesigned intersections and new pavement on many
major campus roads. Masters and Doctorate students tell me they are
working hard to wrap up these projects; Many faculty I've spoken to
are prepping fall semester course outlines and working on research projects.
"Welcome Days" for all students is just a few weeks away!

MSUAA Regional Alumni Club, the Quad Cities Alumni
Club. thanks to the organizing efforts of president
Brian Kopp and a great group of Spartans, there's a special reception
on Saturday, August 9 at the Front Street Brewery, Grotto Room (lower level),
located at 208 East River Drive in Davenport, Iowa. Time for the reception
and charter presentation is 5:00 PM, Central Time. For more information,

ATLANTA ANNUAL BIG TEN PICNIC
The MSU Alumni Club of Atlanta - one
of our most active clubs - is participating in 2003 Annual Big Ten Picnic
on Saturday, August 9. Festivities begin at Noon at
Riverside Park - Shelter A - located on Lake Allatoona Dam Road, just off
of US-41. The cost is just $5.00 per person; $7.50 per couple, or
the "family plan" at just $10.00. For more informatoin, contact Jason

ALUMNI MAGAZINE DEADLINE

Bao, Editor of the MSU Alumni Magazine,
tells us the deadline for submitting materials for the Fall 2003 Issue
is August 15. Don't forget to prepare a Post Event
Report Form for your article submission. The form can be
uploaded at our group forms web site at http://www.msu.edu/~msuaa007/
REGIONAL CLUB ANNUAL DUES and MAIL LISTS
2003 Annual Dues Disbursal checks were mailed Friday (last
week) to all Active Regional Alumni Clubs that submitted their annual report
to the MSU Alumni Association by the June 1 Deadline. If your club
has not received a disbursal check, we did not receive an annual report
from your club. Annual reports are also required
to receive your club's football ticket order.
New this year: The cover letter with checks
to club presidents included an attached information sheet with a detail
report of how dues monies were calculated, with a break-down of Annual and
Life Memberships for your club's boundaries. Please note that dues were
calculated for active PAID memberships between March 1, 2002, and February
28, 2003. No dues monies are disbursed for two alumni memberships:
Annual New Graduate Complimentary Members and Life Members
established prior to 1986 (Under the old independent alumni association).
NOTE: Current Alumni Mailing Lists will never match dues disbursal
lists. Mailing lists are updated weekly on the University's
database, as new members are added and annual memberships expire without
renewal; Dues Disbursals are calculated over a one year period (noted
above). Actual membership for your club is generally a little larger
than the count for your dues disbursal, as noted above.
A current mailing list for your club can be ordered by completing an Alumni
Mailing List request form at http://www.msu.edu/~msuaa007/
CONSTITUENT ANNUAL REPORTS
A reminder to our Constiutent Alumni Boards and Councils
(groups associated with academic units and colleges on campus) that your
Annual Reports were due to the MSUAA on August 1, 2003. The
next round of constituent group dues disbursals will be sent only if we
have your current report on file. Annual reports are also required to receive your constituent
group's football ticket order.
