Oakland County - Ready for Football!
Dear
MSUAA Regional Clubs, Constiutent Groups and National Board Members:
It is with great sadness that this edition of the MSUAA Regional Club e-Newsletter
starts with the announcement of the passing of Terry Monaghan (Civil
Engineering, Class of 1949). Terry started his career after
graduation Michigan State as an engineer with the Michigan Department of
Transportation, supervising bridge projects all over Michigan. After
moving to Mount Clemens, Michigan, he became co-owner of the asphalt
firm Ward and VanNuck. In 1963, he graduated from the Detroit College
of Law (now at MSU) and was subsequently admitted to practice law by
the Macomb County Circuit Court. Terry was a founding member of the
MSU Alumni Club of Macomb County, and maintained his MSUAA membership for
many years, supporting the club with scholarship efforts and the community
by being involved with many civic endeavors and public service efforts throughout
the county. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marion,
and son John, and many relatives. Funeral services were held
today in Mt. Clemens , and several hundred folks attended to pay respects.
Terry's great sense of humor will be missed by family and friends; Michigan
State University is richer for his support. More information about
Terry can be found on-line at http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=8099982&BRD=988&PAG=461&dept_id=141267&rfi=8
