Dear MSUAA Regional Clubs, Constituent Groups and National Board Members:
We're one week away from Spring Commencement activities, and the campus
is looking great! It's been a busy week for the colleges and
academic units with Final Examinations and planning for the Summer Semester.
Big news breaking on the International Front that involve MSU President
Peter McPherson; and a lot of spring activities have been scheduled
by clubs (more details follow). And, we're pleased that Spartans in
several states are working to activate new Alumni Regional Clubs!
U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow today announced that Peter McPherson
will serve as Financial Coordinator for the Office of Reconstruction and
Humanitarian Assistance (ORHA) in Iraq. In this role, McPherson will
serve as the principal financial and economic policy advisor to Director
of ORHA, Jay Garner.
- "Peter
McPherson brings a wealth of experience in the public and private sector,
including the presidency of a major university, to this new position,"
stated Treasury Secretary
John Snow.
In a related
story, the MSU Board of Trustees is expected to grant President McPherson
an unpaid leave of 130 days to accept this appointment, and appoint MSU
Provost Lou Anna K. Simon as Interim President. For complete

The MSU Alumni Club of San Diego is holding its second
annual golf tournament at the Vineyard Golf Course located on San Pasqual

The MSU Alumni Club of Eastern Virginia is holding
its annual meeting and dinner, with an election of a new slate of Board
Officers. It takes place at 6:00 PM at The Williamsburg Winery, located

ANNUAL
REPORTS/ DUES DISBURSALS
Annual
Dues Disbursal checks for MSUAA Regional Clubs in good standing with the
MSUAA will be mailed in early June. Alumni Regional Clubs are
considered to be "in good standing" upon filing an Annual Report.
Annual Reports are required in order to receive a dues disbursal check from
the MSUAA and to order Spartan Football Tickets through the MSUAA.
Annual Report forms are being printed, and will be mailed to Club Presidents
within the next week.
